Construction underway
After a weekend of work on our soapbox racer is taking shape nicely.
We have the two bike frames secured together with steel, added the
seat and we even have brakes. Steering was sorted on Monday night
and we took her for the first test run.
In testing up and down the street, Annette is already nice and fast
with responsive (perhaps too responsive) steering. Dan on his first
test drive managed to put her on two wheels and nearly flipped it
but managed to hold on. The rest of the team did better but all agreed
that the BMX front wheels were too unstable. A moment later and we
had slick mountainbike wheels on the front and everything was much
more balanced....
